It is factual that the skin undergoes dramatic changes as one ages. Fat cells begin to shrink and the skin loses the elasticity it had in its youthful time; lines and furrows begin to form. These fine lines and furrows are wrinkles and they tend to occur on: the face, under the eyes, and on the forehead.Wrinkles can have a considerable effect on a person’s self esteem and reason. This is because our society places a lot of importance on appearance and there is a stigma attached to aging. Various factors are responsible for causing wrinkles, like: ageing, smoking, free radicals, sun exposure, stress, dehydration, rapid weight loss, pollution, sedentary life, lack of proper skin care and poor nutrition/diet among others.
There are several natural remedies to reduce skin wrinkles such as:
Massaging lemon juice all over one’s skin to help get rid of wrinkles. The juice works as a deep cleansing agent and astringent and may help keep the skin clean and taut.
An ancient home remedy for the removal of wrinkles, cabbage juice should be massaged over the facial skin and left to dry. After the juice dries, rinse it off with warm water. Cabbage juice is believed to help tighten up facial muscles.
Mashing a ripe papaya and applying the pulp to the face and neck for about forty minutes and gently washing with clean water, helps keep the skin smooth and unlined as there essential vitamins found in papaya.
Apply egg whites mixed with coconut oil to the face and let it dry before rinsing off. This helps maintain the elasticity of your skin and eliminate signs of aging. The coconut oil works as a moisturizer and prevents skin dehydration as well.
Pineapple contains vitamin C, which is great for skin, especially if you are trying to get rid of wrinkles. Apply pineapple pulp on your skin. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. You can also use pineapple juice to massage your face.
Mash a banana in a bowl and apply it on the face evenly and leave it for half an hour. Rinse thoroughly. Do not rub your skin until it dries out. This will remove away the wrinkles.
Take a fresh cucumber and cut it into thin slices. Place it on the face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes then rinse it off. Cucumber will soften the skin and remove the wrinkles.
A tomato is a very effective home remedy for face wrinkles. Apply tomato pulp on your face and neck and allow it to dry. There after, rinse gently. Regular application will give you instant brightening and young looking skin.
Rub watermelon skin on your face. Leave it for 8 minutes. Then, wash it off with cold water. This will freshen up your skin and make it really smooth.
Take honey and lemon juice in an equal amount and mix them well. Apply it on your face; leave it on for 15minutes, then wash it off. This will make your facial skin tight and wrinkle-free.
Take an avocado and remove the pulp. Mash it and apply it on the face, leave it for about 30 minutes, then wash the face. Avocado is full of vitamin E, which nourishes the dry skin, making it tight.
Cut a leaf of aloe vera and take out the gel part. Apply it on the face, let it stay for 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Repeated on daily basis, will remove the skin wrinkles.
Get adequate sleep. When you don’t get enough sleep, the body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks down skin cells bringing about more skin wrinkles but with enough sleep and rest your skin will produce more HGH (human growth hormone), which helps the skin remain thick, more “elastic,” and less likely to wrinkle.
