YOU should see your faces,” says Trudy Chacón
starred by Michelle Rodriguez to her colleagues as they fly
over Pandora’s “Hallelujah Mountains” for
the first time, in a scene from a James Camerons record breaking
movie, Avatar. The look on the faces in the audience as they
watched ‘Pandora Land’ in cinemas was not any different
from that of Michelle’s colleagues – simply one
of Awe.
The movie dazzled audiences with its visual wizardry, which
has left many filmmakers and studios struggling to figure out
when, if ever, viewers can expect an equally striking on-screen
experience. With its combination of immense 3-D images and a
sophisticated performance-capture technology, the movie has,
taken in a world record breaking US $2billion in worldwide ticket
sales, much of it from 3-D screens.
Avatar is a science fiction epic film written and directed
by Cameron. It stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney
Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez and Stephen Lang. The film is set
in the year 2154, when humans are mining a precious mineral
called unobtanium on the lush moon Pandora in the Alpha Centauri
star system.
