Henry Makori, a Kenyan journalist based in Nairobi reports on circumstances surrounding Kenyan elections slated for March this year Gacheke Gachehe wants to be the first Member of Parliament for the new Mathare Constituency in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Mathare, one of the biggest and lowliest slums in the city, has about half-amillion people, with 90,000 registered voters. The area was recently hit by communal violence that claimed the lives of seven people.
