A huge fire erupted at a police complex in Egypt’s city of Ismailia early on Monday morning.
Images on social media showed flames engulfing the city’s security directorate and parts of the building are said to have collapsed.
Dozens of people were reportedly injured.
Fire engines at the scene appeared to be struggling to contain the blaze, the Reuters news agency cited witnesses as saying. State TV reported hours later that the fire was contained.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Deadly fires are not uncommon in Egypt amid poorly enforced fire safety standards.
In August last year, dozens of people died after a fire broke out at a church.
