The Comboni Missionaries Superior General Fr Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie opened the new operating theatre at Limone Medical Centre on November 15th.
Fr Tesfaye was accompanied to the inauguration by the Ugandan Provincial Superior Fr Achilles Kiwanuka and his Deputy Fr Anthony Kibira.
At the inauguration, the Superior General called upon the hospital staff to treat the patients with love.
Dr Ambrosoli Odok the medical superintendent of Limone Medical Centre said they were grateful to the Comboni Missionaries for Limone which has given them the opportunity to treat patients at a cost that doesn’t inconvenience patients and the medical centre.
He added that all the medical Centre is surviving because of the support of the Comboni Missionaries across the world.
Meanwhile the Comboni Provincial Superior Uganda Province Fr Achilles Kiwanuka called upon the staff of Limone to maintain the human dignity they have always given the patients, he added that the facility should not turn commercial.
“I pray that I may not live to see the facility turn Commercial,” he said.
Limone medical Centre was opened in 2019 by the Comboni Missionaries with a vision of providing Christ centred holistic care to both in and out patients. The hospital started as an out Patient offering bed rests for its patients, it has since set a standard of growth, when they opened up an antenatal service, children’s ward and a general ward to admit patients.
Dr Ambrosoli added that they have done surgery on their patients from outside the hospital but were grateful that the hospital has now received its own operating theatre.
The Provincial superior was grateful to the general counsel of the Comboni missionaries, Comboni missionaries in Germany and Comboni missionaries in the United Stated for the assistance rendered in the construction of the thearte.
